Do you need a court order to freeze someones bank account? and if so is their a trial with a judge before hand

My father gifted money to me about 6 months before he past, and my brother wants to get his hands on it . I dont beleve he can or has any right but he has thretend me thet he would get a lawyer and freeze my checking account. can he do this.?
